Ipswich, Suffolk— Red Dot, the international leader in mobile heating and air conditioning, has welcomed John Hurley and Lee Markham as the newest members of its United Kingdom-based staff. Hurley brings considerable experience and skill in sales, and Markham will lead engineering initiatives.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have John and Lee on board to support Red Dot’s efforts in expanding our footprint in the European market,” said Andrew Elshaw, head of sales for Red Dot’s European operations. “Their combined expertise in business development and engineering is exactly what Red Dot seeks to reach new heights in both the aftermarket and OEM business.”
As business development manager, Hurley will support sales and business development throughout the European market. He previously managed sales for the territories of South Wales and the Southwest of England at Lincoln Electric in Sheffield. With 20 years of sales and management experience, Hurley specializes in building relationships with customers in the automotive, general fabrication, power generation, structural steelwork, heavy equipment, and oil and gas distribution industries.
Hurley has also served in lead sales roles at Mabey Bridge, Al Met, and Bergstrom Europe. He holds a degree in engineering from Cardiff University and a master’s degree in computer integrated manufacturing from the University of Huddersfield.
Markham, in his new role as lead project engineer, will use his strong design and project management background to drive product and customer development. Markham comes to Red Dot from Franklin Fueling Systems, where he served in various mechanical engineering, design and product development roles for more than 12 years. He has helped to design pipework and systems-related products for blue chip petroleum customers, including the integration of electro-mechanical systems.
