Red Dot Distributor Conference Recognizes Top Dealers in Heavy-Duty Mobile HVAC

1/26/2018

Tucson, Ariz. and Seattle, Wash. –  Red Dot, an international leader in mobile heating and air conditioning, recently recognized its top-performing distributors of 2017, as well as a key employee, at its annual Red Dot Distributor Conference in Tucson, Arizona.

The Million Dollar Award, the company’s highest honor, was given to three distributors who sold more than $1 million worth of Red Dot units and parts in 2017. This year’s recipients were Badger Truck Refrigeration of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Kool Radiator of Southgate, MI; and NVB Equipment of Central California.

“The three Million Dollar Award recipients helped make 2017 one of Red Dot’s most successful years in recent history, resulting in a nearly 25 percent revenue increase from 2016,” said Nick Janus, chief financial officer for Red Dot. “Our distributors’ professionalism, longevity in the marketplace, and clear commitment to serving their customers in the heavy-duty and off-road industries make us proud that they choose to represent Red Dot.”

In addition to the Million Dollar Award, the three leading distributors received the Winners’ Circle Award given to the six highest-performing customers, along with Crows Truck Service of Memphis, Tennessee; Instrument Sales & Service of Portland, Oregon; and Simplicity Air of Hamilton, Ontario.

“It’s because of our loyal customers that Red Dot has been able to flourish in the heavy-duty mobile HVAC market for more than fifty years,” added Pat Carroll, vice president of sales and marketing. “We can count on these guys to represent Red Dot in the marketplace, among their consumers who use our products every day in the most demanding, punishing environments. We’re extremely grateful to serve as their business partners and are pleased to present them with this award.”

Red Dot also honored 18 of its distributors with the Triple Crown award, which recognizes outstanding performance in three categories: Increase in overall sales, total gross sales and position in the top 50.

Honorees include:
  • Austin Parts & Service, Akron, Ohio
  • CSTK, Kansas City, Kansas
  • Eskimo Refrigeration, Calgary, Alberta
  • Florida Detroit Diesel-Allison, Fort Lauderdale, Florida
  • Fuel Systems, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  • Hiway Refrigeration, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia
  • Instrument Sales & Service, Portland, Oregon
  • Marks Air, Tampa, Florida
  • Polar Mobility Research, Calgary, Alberta
  • Rock Island Thermo King, Rock Island, Illinois
  • Simplicity Air, Hamilton, Ontario
  • Thermo King Midwest, Indianapolis, Indiana
  • Thermo King of Houston, Houston, Texas
  • Thermo King of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Thermo King Western, Edmonton, Alberta
  • Trans-F-Air Frigo-Remorques, Saint-Hubert, Quebec
  • Valley Power Systems, City of Industry, California
  • W.W. Williams Southeast, Atlanta, Georgia

Beyond honoring its top customers, Red Dot took the opportunity at the annual gathering to shine the spotlight on one of its own, Aftermarket Customer Service Supervisor Kristina Williams.

Williams has been with Red Dot since 2011 and was recognized this year with the Rising Star Award, given to an employee who demonstrates exceptional leadership, performance and professional growth.

“Kristina deserves all the credit she gets,” stated Jim Hittman, Owner of Badger Truck Refrigeration, Red Dot’s highest-performing customer last year. “She has truly been a lifesaver— if there was ever a problem, she worked with us until we figured it out together. I can’t think of a better person to lead Red Dot’s customer service team.”

Each year, Red Dot hosts a Distributor Conference for its top 30 customers to connect and exchange industry insights. This year’s conference was held in Tucson, Arizona from January 15 – 16, and included more than 40 attendees from across the U.S. and Canada, from Memphis, Tennessee to Burlington, Ontario.
